Chris and Susannah Thompson are a Colorado-based singer-songwriter duo bringing a world of life experiences to their music. Originally from the upper mid-west, Chris & Susannah have traveled the world writing and singing songs about the people and places they’ve seen along the way.
Chris Thompson has lived and performed in Mexico, Europe, Southern Africa, the Caribbean and most of the US. In 2001, Chris settled down in Colorado, planted roots and started writing and recording his unique flavor of Americana music. CHRIS THOMPSON & CORAL CREEK have been playing across the Colorado Front Range and US Virgin Islands since 2003.
Susannah is a Singer / Songwriter from Golden, Colorado delighting listeners with her unique blend of Mountain/Caribbean/World music. A country girl from the woods north of Green Bay, WI, Susannah has travelled the world and brings a wealth of life experiences to her singing and songwriting styles. From the peaks of the Andes to the lush French countryside, from a sandy spit near Jost van Dyke to a fireside camp deep in the Okavongo Delta –
The duo settled in Golden, CO in 2001, and have since tapped the flourishing mountain music scene. They released two studio records co-produced by Chris Thompson & Bill Nershi (of The String Cheese Incident). Chris’ recent release, THE ROAD AHEAD (2010) leans toward country, blues and bluegrass, while Susannah’s new record, WATCH ME FLY (2012) favors funk, pop and world music. Both records feature performances by some of the best musicians that Colorado has to offer, including Bill Nershi, Keith Moseley and Kyle Hollingsworth (String Cheese Incident), Andy Thorn and Tyler Grant (Leftover Salmon and Emmitt-Nershi Band), Adam Kinghorn and Joe Lessard (Head for the Hills) and other wonderful Colorado musicians.
Keep an eye out for this couple as they tour as a duo or with one of Chris’ bands, CHRIS THOMPSON & CORAL CREEK or the CORAL CREEK STRING BAND. They will be playing the US from coast-to-coast in 2014 and touring in Europe, Mexico and the Caribbean. In the meantime, the Music Festival is pleased to welcome them to San Pancho. Don’t miss them!
